The title of this baseball movie?

I can't seem to remember the name, nor how old it was. The only to things I can remember is that one of the characters was a young black boy who played pitcher for a team but when he played he was always listening to his cd player. In on particular team they were playing a really good team and they were the underdogs, and when they were winning the coach complained to the umpire that it was a safety issue and the umpire made the boy take off his Walkman. The team rallied together and they started singing the song that helped him pitch. I also remember that there was one small boy on the team who was killed ( I think it was gang related) It was a very sad part of the movie. But, that's all I can remember about it. it'd be great if anyone could tell me the title of this movie!
