Why Muslim men don't wear golden bands?

Islam is restricting men from wearing golden bands, and women from uncovering their heads!!! why is there such high focus in trivial issues in Islam? is it to distinguish muslims looks from others? what is the importance of such trivial stuff? Wasn't better off to focus on the core issues like all other religions? and leave these immaterials issues that create more troubles for no reasons?
