As a fan of a 'lower' rated team is the glass half full or half empty in regards to the poison chalice?

That's a major problem for any lower league team that produce quality players, many can't afford not to sell them once they are known. I mean with all the money Chelsea have spent on transfers, IMO their three best Players came from west ham years before, ( lampard, Terry, Joe cole ) I have a friend who is a hardcore conference league team fan (to local to give away the name), and he believes you can't beat the tension and drama of the lower leagues, and that it hasn't been diminished by the fa like the premiership.
